Review Policy
Thank you for considering me as a reviewer for your book!
However, before you contact me, there are a few things you need to know regarding my review policy...
I Am NOT Accepting:
ONE STAR - I have honestly never given a book a one-star review. It would basically have to be written by a wildly bigoted and incoherent three-year-old, and I'm not sure if those exist. I'd place more money on the UFO/Bigfoot theory.
TWO STARS - I very rarely give this rating. However, two stars would reflect a serious lack of editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and a serious lack of character and plot development.
THREE STARS - There is potential here, but the work could have been further developed in terms of character, plot, imagery, coherence, etc. This is typically the lowest rating I will give.
FOUR STARS - The work is engaging and easy to follow, and its characters resonate with me. I can remember some important details (my memory kind of sucks, so if something sticks, this is a good sign of a well-written book) and do not feel inundated with too many characters, plot devices, or sense that many aspects of the book are contrived. The reason why I assign a four is because there are a few things that I think could be improved/expanded upon but that don't detract from my enjoyment of the work.
FIVE STARS - I do occasionally give five-star ratings. Honestly, I wouldn't even rate my own published works this high. Five stars means that I was unable to put the book down and was so engrossed that I couldn't find any flaws worth mentioning. Characters are realistic and quirky, scenes flow seamlessly together, symbols/images are vivid, and themes/motifs are enthralling.
Please note that, should you contact me, you are agreeing to have me give an honest (and unpaid-for!) review of your work. Do not take it too hard if you don't get the rating you think you deserve. There is always room for improvement, and I strive to give constructive criticism, not to tear others down.
I'M ALSO OPEN TO:
With that being said, if you're still interested, head on over to the "contact" page and send me a message! I can't wait to hear from you.
